Yummy Homemade Eggnog

My dear Husband brought home a small container of eggnog last week. I don't think he had any idea how much I love eggnog, so it was a very pleasant surprise. We enjoyed it, but it was gone quickly. A couple days later, I thought of how I made homemade eggnog a couple of years ago at home for my family, and decided to dig out a recipe.

I made it tonight, and it was even so much better than the store-bought. Here is the recipe. It's soo good and yummy! :)

Eggnog

6 eggs
1 cup sugar
4 cups cream
4 cups milk (I just used 1/2 gallon of whole, raw milk)
1 Tablespoon vanilla
1/2 - 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg

Beat eggs and sugar together in large bowl for 10 minutes, or until very fluffy and sugar is completely desolved. Stir in cream, vanilla, and nutmeg. Then add milk. Chill for 1-2 hours before serving.

Enjoy!!

He's Talking!

Ok, so not really "talking" but in baby speak he really is making lot of noise. I'm sure he understands what he's trying to say and thinks that we know what he's talking about too. Of course the little guy seems to get cuter and cuter every day!

Oh my Potatoes!

We went to an Amish farm today to get potatoes by the 50-lb. sackfull. At the farm, he had these bins that were about 6'X6'. Eight of these bins were full of potatoes, and he said he had about eight more still in his fields. Talk about a lot of potatoes! :)

After we got the potatoes, we went to see "Peppy" and "Duckie" (David's parents) and the aunts and uncles. On the way both there and back, we saw the beautiful fall leaves and many, many buggies on the road.

All in all, it was a good day.

8 weeks today!!!

My boy is 8 weeks old today. My goodness, how time has flown! The past few weeks were pretty uneventful until he caught a cold this week. Then started the fun of snotty noses and the dreaded suction bulb. Thankfully, he seems to be on the mend today.

As I see my son get bigger by the day, I am reminded of James' words, "What is our life? it is even a vapor which appeareth for a little time, then vanisheth away". Time is short and life is precious, and we thank God for both. How blessed we are to have Josiah entrusted to our care.

Hello Everyone!

Dear Friends and Family,

I've been wanting to start a blog for all our loved ones for quite some time now, but I'm just now getting around to it :)

We want to be able to keep in touch with you all, share pictures, and just be able to publish what great things God is doing in our lives.

We pray God's blessings on you all.
